Women come to me to get stronger, build muscle and feel really confident in their own skin for the rest of their lives. But sometimes they have short-term goals like looking fabulous for their wedding or for the next bikini season… and despite what some might say about working out “just to look good,” I think this is awesome! If you want to look like a queen at your own wedding, fuck yeah! Let’s do this!

I never judge the reason my clients are beginning their fitness journey. Instead, my goal is to make sure that during our work together they learn how to independently take care of their bodies.
The idea is that you won’t need to buy a fitness program or hire a personal trainer ever again. You’ll know exactly what to do. We address the why and when and how so you understand the reasons behind the changes we make.
What’s better than short term results?
Imagine if you could actually learn and understand why we’re doing what we’re doing, so that you can create the outcome on your own in the future.
When your fitness goals become a part of your lifestyle, preparing for a special event or that beach vacation gets easier every time. So no matter how you get started, ignore the voices that call you “shallow” or “vain.” The point is that working on yourself in this way gets you in the habit of a healthy lifestyle.
There’s a much better way to transform your body than just counting calories and doing excessive amounts of cardio. I will help you gain the understanding behind what the right thing to do for your body is going to be, and you learn how to make decisions about your movement and fuel choices with intention and awareness.
The hardest part of a fitness program
For me, personally, the most frustrating part was when I was working out a lot and eating well (At least I thought so.) but I still didn’t look the way I wanted.
I had participated in different sports my entire life but I still didn’t know what changes to make to see the desired results. I was not able to lose the extra body fat I had gained and I could not build the muscle I wanted.
I felt athletic and flexible and very coordinated and I could really kick butt during my Karate years… yet I just could not get as strong as I wanted to be. I’ve always loved muscles and I wanted more.
When, after a lot of research and consistent strength training I was finally able to see the results I wanted I can’t tell you what a relief I felt. It wasn’t just the changes I made to my body that felt incredible, it was the realization that I’m in control of the way I look and feel. My confidence went through the roof.
When I hire a trainer now, it’s to learn a new skill or to improve my squat technique not because I need help to look and feel way I want. That’s the level MindSets Fitness clients attain in their work with me. Total body confidence.
Wondering if you’re on the right track?
Here are a couple things you’ll notice my most successful clients doing differently:
- You’re not getting anywhere if you’re not engaged inside and outside the gym
If you take a one hour class at a gym, but the rest of your life remains the same, you’re most likely not going to see the change you desire. Being fully committed to the goals you have is a crucial part of the physical transformation.
- You need to be focused on the change you want to make
It’s important to be mindful of what you’re eating, how you’re sleeping, and what you do with your body so that you can continue that growth.
- Successful people plan ahead
It’s the difference between waking up in the morning and having breakfast, and spending the rest of the day wondering what you should eat next and what you want. At that point, you’re constantly trying to catch up and in the afternoon you’re exhausted and you feel like you really need that sugary boost.
My most successful clients understand the importance of meal prepping and planning, and they know what they’re going to eat each day so they aren’t deciding at the moment and relying on willpower at the end of a long day to help them make a healthy choice.
- Be honest, and celebrate the small wins
Do not feel vain or silly if you set yourself physique goals. In my experience most people who start a fitness journey want to feel confident. They want to feel amazing in their own skin. They see fit people with tons of energy and they think: I want that, too!
For example, a client told me that her co-workers are the smartest and most accomplished people she’s ever worked with. “And you know what they also have in common? They are all in shape. They jog or bike to work, they train at the gym on a regular basis and they stay away from the free candy.” she told me, “I want to be a part of that. I don’t want to stick out. I want to look and feel like I know what I’m doing and how to take care of my body.”
